Unlike our Provence retreat, Camellas-Lloret is about being, not doing. You'll have the house during the day — the terrace, the garden, the village. Cathy cooks most meals. You share her table.
We'll offer 2–3 optional excursions (Carcassonne, wine country, market day), but mostly, you'll rest. Read. Wander. Wade in the pool. Go to bed early.
Small group — 5 guests only. Permission to do nothing.
Notify Me When Registration OpensMost travelers to southern France follow the same roads — Provence, the Côte d'Azur, the Dordogne. They miss Occitania almost entirely. This is part of its appeal.
Occitania is where France becomes something more ancient, more layered, and more quietly extraordinary. This is Cathar country — dramatic medieval castles on impossible ridgelines, abbeys half-swallowed by hillsides, the ruins of a civilization that valued beauty and defiance in equal measure.
Montréal — not the Canadian city, but a small and remarkable village in the Aude — sits just north of Carcassonne, surrounded by some of the finest wine country in France and woven through with the history of the Canal du Midi. It is a place that rewards exactly the kind of attention we bring.
October here is extraordinary: the harvest is ending, the light has gone golden, the crowds of summer have vanished entirely. It is France as it likes to be.
Camellas-Lloret is Cathy's restored medieval home — not a hotel, not a rental property. Stone walls, high ceilings, rooms that feel both ancient and considered. A terrace. A garden. A pool.
Cathy cooks most meals. You eat at her table, with the windows open and good wine poured. It is that kind of place — generous, unhurried, and deeply personal.

I've never heard of Montréal (the French one). Is this off the beaten path?
Entirely. That is precisely the appeal. Montréal, Aude is a medieval village of extraordinary character that most visitors to France — including many who have visited France many times — have never encountered. You will feel like you have found a secret. Because you have.
How does this retreat compare to the Gordes retreat?
They are quite different in tone. Gordes is iconic Provence — the Luberon, lavender, limestone, perfume. Camellas Lloret is wilder, more medieval, more intimate — Cathar country, vineyards, a France that fewer people have seen. Both are exceptional. Some guests book both.
How many guests will be in the group?
Five guests only. This retreat is intentionally small — you are staying in someone's home, eating at her table. It works because it stays intimate.
What is the pricing?

I'd like to bring a friend. Is that possible?
Yes — and it often works beautifully. Two friends who travel well together add something wonderful to a group. Please mention this when you inquire and we'll discuss room and logistics.
We're still finalizing pricing and the full details for this retreat. Email Felicia directly and she'll reach out as soon as registration opens.
Five guests only. If this retreat feels right for you, it's worth being on the list.
